2024 Week 9 League Play

The two teams tied atop the standings faced off this week, with Wedgies coming out on top over President's Choice by a 9-7 margin. Wedgies now have a one match lead over the field, and President's Choice drops to third place. Darcy's Duffers are in second afer knocking off the Mulligans (10-6). Odd Lot moved up to fourth with a 12-4 trouncing of Sandbaggers, dropping Shank Faction (who lost 9-7 to Team Fore!) to fifth. The day's other match saw Divot Masters topple BAG Team in a tiebreaker (8-8,101-109). Complete standings are below.

Overall scores were solid despite the wind, with the average net score posting at 1.8 over par (36.8 on the back nine). Julian Chesnutt was lights out, shooting a 6-under net 29 to lead the field. Other golfers taking low net prizes in their respective handicap groups were Nick Fernandez, Ryan Rader, and Jim Bates (all at net 33). Fernandez also had the low gross score of the day at two-over 37. Thomas Hallen put his second shot 2'11" from the pin on #11 to take the KP prize, while Jerry Martin had the longest drive on #13. A note for the new players: Each week the winners of low net and gross scores are highlighted here on the website. However, weekly prizes are given to low net only (not low gross). Two hole prizes are awarded each week, and vary from week to week. Low net prizes are given in four handicap groupings, broken out as evenly as possible based on the distributions of handicaps playing that day. Therefore, you are competing against others with similar handicap for low net individual prizes. See the Prize Listing for a list of individual prize winners.

Reminder from the handicap chair and webmaster: Please clearly write full names with correct spelling on the score sheets each week, so that we don't have to try to guess when entering scores into the handicap database. Also please compute the adjusted gross score based on player handicap. AND... CHECK HANDICAPS against the listing in the score folder to make sure they match what each player reported at the start of the match!
