Columbia Point BMGL Score Sheets

The score sheets below are used to record weekly play in the BMGL. Please note the following when completing score sheets:

  • Actual gross score is used to compute the net score for each player. Adjusted gross (far right column) is used only for handicapping purposes, and implements stroke control so that a very bad score on one hole does not unduly influence one's handicap.
  • When opposing players have different handicaps, the player with the higher handicap receives a number of strokes equal to the difference in handicaps. For match play, those strokes are applied starting with the hole with lowest handicap rating (e.g., 1 or 2) and to increasingly higher ratings until all strokes are used. When a hole is scored, the number of handicap strokes given are subtracted from the higher handicap player's score and the result is compared with the lower handicap player's score to determine the winner of the hole. In the case where one of the players picked up before holing out according to the BMGL triple bogey maximum score rule, the other player automatically wins the hole regardless of handicap differential (unless they also picked up, in which case the hole is split). If the handicap differential is greater than nine, two strokes will be given to the higher handicap player on holes with the lowest handicap ratings and one stroke on the rest.
  • Please enter team names and players' full names to facilitate entry of scores by the handicap chair into the handicap database.
  • Double-check each player's stated handicap against the most recent handicap sheet (available in the BMGL folder), and check the scoring and math before signing the sheets.
