2024 Week 8 League Play

Odd Lot toppled first place Darcy's Duffers (12-4) to knock them down to third place. Wedgies took advantage with a tiebreaker win over Divot Masters (8-8,112-120) to move into the top spot. President's Choice hopped up to second place on the strength of a tiebreaker win over Team Fore! (8-8,117-119). Shank Faction dropped an 8-6 decision to Mulligans and sit in fourth. In the day's other match, BAG Team defeated Sandbaggers (10-6). Complete standings are below.

Overall scores were on the high side, coming in at a net average of 3.7 strokes over par (40.7 on the front nine). Bill Forsythe posted a net 34 to lead the way, while Frank Dunn and Marvin Warner (35) and Terry Milham (37) also took low net prizes in their respective handicap groups. Dunn tied with Thomas Hallen for low gross bragging rights at 3-over 40. Hallen picked up a hole prize (KP in 3 on #5 at 5'0") and the other hole prize went to Chris Klasen with a 9'5" putt on #3 to take Longest Putt. The full scoresheet is here.

A note for the new players: Each week the winners of low net and gross scores are highlighted here on the website. However, weekly prizes are given to low net only (not low gross). Two hole prizes are awarded each week, and vary from week to week. Low net prizes are given in four handicap groupings, broken out as evenly as possible based on the distributions of handicaps playing that day. Therefore, you are competing against others with similar handicap for low net individual prizes. See the Prize Listing for a list of individual prize winners.

Reminder from the handicap chair and webmaster: Please clearly write full names with correct spelling on the score sheets each week, so that we don't have to try to guess when entering scores into the handicap database. Also please compute the adjusted gross score based on player handicap. AND... CHECK HANDICAPS against the listing in the score folder to make sure they match what each player reported at the start of the match!
