2024 Week 17 League Play

President's Choice maintained their one-match lead over the field with a 13-3 win over Team Fore! Odd Lot beat Darcy's Duffers 12-4 to stay close. Two matches back and rounding out the top four are Divot Masters and Wedgies, who are tied after a Divot Masters (13-3) win over Wedgies. Team Fore!'s loss dropped them out of the top four and three matches out of first. Shank Faction picked up an 11-5 win over Mulligans and the Sandbaggers defeated BAG Team 6-4.

Going into the final week of regular season play, President's Choice can clinch the regular season title with a win over Wedgies. Should they falter, however, Odd Lot could jump into first if they beat Darcy's Duffers, since Odd Lot has a higher team points total. Both PC and Odd Lot have clinched a top-four finish and a spot in the Championship Flight playoffs. Divot Masters and Wedgies lead the fifth and sixth place Team Fore! and Shank Faction by one match, so a loss could cost them a spot in the top four. Divot Masters are a bit more secure due to their higher team points, but a Wedgies loss would open the door for either Fore! or Shank to grab a spot in the championship flight. At the bottom of the standings, three teams are 6-10 and fighting for the last Consolation Flight playoff spot: Mulligans, Darcy's Duffers, and BAG Team. However, since Mulligans play Duffers in the final week of play, one is guaranteed a win, and even if BAG Team wins their match against Divot Masters their team points are so low they will not be able to move ahead of the winner of the Duffers/Mulligans match. The average net score was solid at 1.8 strokes over par on the front nine. Jason Toyoda bested the field by several strokes with a net 7-under 30. Other players winning low net prizes in their handicap groups were Wyatt Kershaw (34), Bill Forsythe (35), and Gerry Sandness (36). Joey Edminister had the day's best gross score at 1-over 38. A note for the new players: Each week the winners of low net and gross scores are highlighted here on the website. However, weekly prizes are given to low net only (not low gross). Two hole prizes are awarded each week, and vary from week to week. Low net prizes are given in four handicap groupings, broken out as evenly as possible based on the distributions of handicaps playing that day. Therefore, you are competing against others with similar handicap for low net individual prizes. See the Prize Listing for a list of individual prize winners.

Reminder from the handicap chair and webmaster: Please clearly write full names with correct spelling on the score sheets each week, so that we don't have to try to guess when entering scores into the handicap database. Also please compute the adjusted gross score based on player handicap. AND... CHECK HANDICAPS against the listing in the score folder to make sure they match what each player reported at the start of the match!
